Saitech International
Preface
In October of 2007, Saitech International completed a mammoth 2000 unit sale of its kiosk-based, graphics-driven sales tool for U.S.-based Goodyear Auto Centers. To ensure acceptance of their ‘Interactive Learning Centers’ by their client’s traditional workforce, an education campaign was planned.
Need
A press release for distribution throughout Goodyear’s retail executive ranks, managers, and auto center sales technicians. The document would require:
- translation of technical concepts
- an informative, lively story line, and
- be able to showcase their system’s sales advantages.
Solution
A Saitech-approved questionnaire was created, followed by interviews of 4 prominent self-service (kiosk) industry contacts. During the last interview with Goodyear’s V.P. of Retail & Franchise Operations, key field trial results were uncovered.
Results
The press release was enthusiastically received by Goodyear executives, further strengthening their relationship with Saitech. The success of the news release also encouraged Goodyear to be open to Saitech-initiated publicity and instructional efforts.
Saitech’s V.P. Roger van Maris:
“Brian was referred to us at just the right time. We needed someone who was tech-savvy enough to simplify our Learning Center invention; we also required professional business writing. It would be ideal if this person also understood sales, marketing, educational, and customer service principles as well.
Coming in, he knew nothing of our business but he got up to speed quickly (illustrated by an initial PowerPoint presentation). His research and interviewing skills proved he was up to the challenge.
We continued to use his ingenuity for such projects as our Training & Communications Roadmap, PR research report, a Whitepaper on ‘The Value of Kiosks in Retail Sales’ for one of our multinational clients.
He even came in for a Sunday meeting to help us expand his PowerPoint presentation for a big Goodyear sales conference. Brian added value created his own projects, including locating an award winning filmmaker which resulted in a 2-minute training video for our client. ”
